As a Software Engineer (IN2) – Data Engineer at Walmart Global Tech, you’ll play a crucial role in developing innovative solutions that enhance the shopping experience for millions of people worldwide. You’ll be part of a dynamic team focused on building highly scalable and robust enterprise performance management (EPM) solutions for Walmart’s global business services. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with cross-functional teams, designing and developing scalable business applications using open-stack technologies, and driving continuous improvement in software effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Develop world-class applications that meet and exceed the needs of the business and company.
  • Collaborate with team members to establish best practices and technical requirements for software development.
  • Design and develop highly scalable business applications using open-stack technologies.
  • Collaborate with upstream and downstream development teams to integrate business applications.
  • Engage with Walmart engineering teams globally to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve software effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Provide coaching and training to other team members to ensure proficiency in software applications.

Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills

  • Programming experience in Python, ReactJS, Node.js, and other frontend technologies.
  • Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Understanding of code/design reviews, processes, and tools.
  • Familiarity with finance business functions and financial reporting.
  • Continuous drive to explore, improve, automate, and optimize systems and tools.
  • Exposure to information retrieval, statistics, and machine learning.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area.
  • 0 to 1 year of experience in data engineering and frontend development, or 3 years’ experience in software engineering at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
