Role
Upstox is seeking a Manual cum Automation Development Engineer for the role of Quality Assurance Engineer I. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating frontend test scripts, running batch tests daily to verify assigned Upstox products/modules end-to-end, and analyzing automation test results. The framework is based on Python and PyTest. This role requires a strong understanding of manual testing processes, and the candidate will transition to automation as needed. The position demands fluency in manual testing processes to ensure the highest quality in production releases.
Responsibilities
- Test software for responsiveness and efficiency.
- Report accurate test results to stakeholders and design processes to improve test coverage.
- Embed testability and quality throughout the software development and test life cycle.
- Report and follow up on issues for closure.
- Complete automation tests, troubleshoot failure scripts, and generate timely test reports.
- Continuously improve automation test efficiency and script ability.
- Design automated test coverage strategies based on release requirements.
- Participate in peer reviews for test cases, design, and code implementation.
Qualifications
- Overall 1-3 years of experience.
- Experience in manual testing processes, creating effective test cases, and expertise in system, integration, and regression testing.
- Experience or knowledge in developing automation scripts in Python or Pytest framework or equivalent language and framework.
- Experience/knowledge in working in Scrum-agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, and build processes (CI/CD Pipeline).
- Ability to troubleshoot and think out of the box while writing test cases.
- Experience or knowledge of debugging tools like Fiddler, Charles Proxy, Jenkins, Selenium, Android Studio/Xcode, TestNG tools.
- Experience or knowledge of tools like Jira, Xray, Confluence.
- Ability to analyze production issues and simulate defects by creating required test data.
- Good written and spoken English communication skills and effective team player.
- Self-motivated, persistent, fast learner, and innovative.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or knowledge in Trading and the FinTech domain is an added plus.
- Experience/knowledge in Mobile Apps (iOS & Android), Web applications.
- Flexibility in switching responsibilities between Manual and Automation.
- Knowledge of RESTful services.
