Emerson is actively seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Analyst – Management Trainee to join our Financial Services Group in Pune, Maharashtra. As a Financial Analyst, you will support key financial activities, including monthly closings, budget forecasts, variance analysis, and management reporting, while driving accuracy and consistency in our financial operations. Responsibilities
- Timely and accurate financial reporting including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Flash Reports.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, ensuring deadlines are met and variations are explained.
- Prepare management reports and dashboards highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) with detailed variance analysis.
- Contribute to annual budgets, mid-year reviews, and forecast cycles by consolidating and analyzing financial data.
- Assist with the creation of financial presentations for finance controllers and senior leadership.
- Stay updated on IFRS and accounting standards, enhancing the accuracy and compliance of reporting.
- Support audit preparation and liaise with auditors to ensure timely financial validation.
- Handle ad-hoc analysis and reporting requests from the finance leadership team.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting tools to increase efficiency.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems (Oracle, Hyperion).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of accounting principles, US GAAP, and IFRS.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exposure to Power BI or similar data visualization tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Eligibity Criteria
- Finance graduate or Chartered Accountant (CA)/MBA (Finance) preferred.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience in a financial role (internship/project work included).
- Experience in using tools like Oracle, Hyperion, or other ERP systems is a plus.
- Must be based in Pune or willing to relocate.
- Self-starter with a drive for process improvement and data integrity.
