Responsibilities

Participate in design sessions with Data Stewards, Engineering teams, Data Scientists, Product Managers, and IT stakeholders to formulate effective data processing, storage, and delivery solutions.

Evaluate new technologies and programming languages through Proof of Concepts (POCs).
Understand business capability needs and processes, collaborating with Product Managers, business, and functional IT stakeholders.
Implement data solutions based on design documentation using various tools and programming languages, following established team processes and methodologies (SCRUM or Kanban).

Investigate and resolve reported problems with data systems and the underlying data, adhering to team processes.
Engage in code reviews, retrospectives, functional and integration testing, and other team activities focused on improving delivery quality.
Collaborate with other data engineers, data stewards, and teams across technical platforms and product teams.

Represent the team in cross-team meetings and events, sharing results and brainstorming process improvements.
Create and maintain design and code documentation in repositories like GitHub, Haystack, SharePoint, or others used by the team.

Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience with 3+ years.

Demonstrated experience with at least one relevant programming language, such as Java or Python.
Experience in building and supporting data platforms, including databases, data pipelines, data APIs, or UIs.
Understanding of data architecture and modeling, including designing logical and physical models for datasets with Project Management.

Exposure to writing queries and building data structures in relational databases and/or non-relational databases.
Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a highly collaborative environment.
Desired exposure or experience in machine learning or other data science practices, agriculture, life sciences, bioinformatics, biochemistry, genetics, biology, or related disciplines, and software development in a cloud environment such as AWS/GCP.

Eligibility Criteria

0-2 years of total work experience.
B Tech or M Tech in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technology.
Quick & excellent problem-solving skills for complex & large-scale distributed problems.

Solid coding skills.
Knowledge of software engineering best practices, data design patterns, and standards.
Knowledge, understanding & experience of working with data processing/ingestions tools and cloud data services.
